I am trying to start up my computer. When it gets to the Intel pentium 4
Inside screen it stops responding. What can I do to get past this?
This is not a Windows issue, the computer is hanging at th Power On Self
Test, before Windows starts to load. It could be that some settings in
the BIOS have been changed and that the computer cannot boot with these
new settings or it could be a hardware problem.
If you can enter the BIOS you can try reseting the BIOS to its default
values and see if the computer can boot with default values. If the
computer can't boot with default values run diagnostic tests on the
computer. Your computer may have shipped with special diagnostic
utilities on diskettes or CD's. If you have such utilities you can go
in the BIOS and set the computer's boot order so that it boots to
diskette or CD before the hard disk and run the diagnostic tests. If
you don't have diagnostic utilities check the support site for your
computer or motherboard to see if they have such utilities available for
download.
