Can't specify signature font

I just added a signature to one of my e-mail accounts, and it appears as
Times Roman 10-pt, while the message text appears in Arial 12 pt, which is
the default font I set. I tried resetting the signature using the editor,
but it remains as Times 10.

I use Plain Text (non-HTML) due to security concerns, but I have been able
to select fonts for New and Reply messages with no problem. Why can't I
specify the signature font?

Plain Text, by definition, has no font information contained in the
formatting. You can't have multiple fonts with Plain Text messages.
