hello there,
when i open the "help and support center" and try to send an invitation
email for remote support i get the following error message:
In german: "Die Remoteunterstützung ist fehgeschlagen. Wiederholen Sie
den Vorgang"
In english this would be something like "remote support failed. Repeat
the task"
By the way: The message is shown very quickly (< 1 second) and the
message box caption is "Microsoft Internet Explorer"
So, obviously the mail can't be send.
I already checked the following:
1) yes, i'm online
All programs that require an active online
connection are working fine (IE, Outlook, newsreader, ...)
2) the services "help and support" and "session manager for remote
desktop" are running
3) control panel: "system" is configured for sending remote access
invitations and remote access
4) i don't use the XP firewall but my own one (Sygate Personal
firewall). The required port 3389 for remote support is opened. Apart
from that it makes no difference whether my firewall is running or not.
Same for my antivirus software (avast!)
5) i tried it with Outlook and Outlook Express
6) my XP Professional is up to date (Service Pack1 as well as all the
other patches for internet explorer etc.)
7) There are no relevant entries in the event log
I have no other ideas what to check. Can anybody give me a hint?
