verify you have entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'my computers email address', Account Windows Mail1,
Server'SMTP',Protocol: SMTP, Port 25, Secure(SSL),NO, Socket
Error:11001,Error Number 0X800CCC0D.

Thankyou.

Gary....I am having the same issues. I have gmail accounts and the incoming
server address and outgoing server addresses I used are pop.gmail.com and
smtp.gmail.com. I STILL keep getting that frustrating error message and am
about to give up. I have Vista operating system in the event that is
important to know.

Gmail allows two different connection methods for Windows Mail - IMAP
and POP; so choose one of these methods and don't get them mixed up.

Note that if you change from one of these methods to the other, it's a good
idea to remove your gmail.com email account under Windows Mail, then
restart Windows Mail and add it again using the other method.
