Doctortrip

I have had no problems up until yesterday. I have not made any hardware or
software changes on my system. Items just began accumulating in my outbox, no
problems deleting them. I am not running any firewall or AVP. I received the
following error message when I try an send mail.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'please', Account:
'mail.doctortrip.com', Server: 'mail.doctortrip.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Forgot to add, called comcast my isp and they said no issues with port 25. I
attempted to download and run live. Received error messages when I attempted
to import my messages and contacts. Still would not connect to server using
live.

Don't take Comcast's word for it. Most likely they *are* blocking port 25
to other servers. Follow these steps:

1. In Windows Mail go to Tools, Accounts, select the doctortrip.com
account, click Properties, Servers. Change the name of the outgoing (SMTP)
server to smtp.comcast.net. Do not change the incoming server. Also,
make sure that the "My server requires authentication" option is checked.
Click the adjacent "Settings" button. Select "Log on using"
then enter your Comcast username and password. Click OK.

2. Go to the Advanced tab and change the port number for the
outgoing (SMTP) server from 25 to 587. Again, do not change any
receiving parameters. Click OK. Try sending.

Ok so I called comcast 3 times yesterday and they assured me it was not their
problem it was either the mail client or my mail server.

Needless to say Gary, you just proved it was them. Thank you for your help,
that solved the problem.

Dear Comcast, thank you for wasting 10 hours of my time. Where can I send
the bill?
