I have tried every fix that I have read about, but nothing has worked. I
called Microsoft support, but the automated system informed me that since
Vista was installed by Dell, they were responsible. The only fix I haven't
tried is KB911090. Iwould try that, but was unable to locate it. Can anyone
help me?

What actually happens when you try to send mail?

Nothing. It just stays in the outbox. When I click the send all, I get an
error message about server not found. I've started new account, deleted old
one, etc. Nothing helps.

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090
It also works on other folders

This often means you have the wrong server name. Who is your email
provider (probably also your internet provider)?

This is a new computer. It worked at first, but now it doesn't. I am running
vista, and I wish I weren't. The server name is correct. I have already tried
941090. It didn't help. I switched to windows live mail. No help. I am stuck.

You can help us help you by describing the exact symptoms, and
including copies of any error messages.

Start with verifying that the server is named correctly. You may have
simply mis-typed the name.

If you go to a command prompt, and type "ping mail.isp.com" where
"mail.isp.com" is the server name, you should get a reply. If you get
consistent failures ("could not find host") and the name isn't shown
converted to an IP address, it's probable that you have the server name
specified incorrectly.

The problem may not be on your end, but rather with the mail server itself.
Contact your ISP or mail provider.
