I have configured a POP3 account in Outlook (XP) and can receive messages on
it but can not send. All messages come back from "System Administrator"
saying:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'xxxxxx xxxxxs' on 10/28/2004 2:33 PM
550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... Relaying denied

I have checked to make sure that the account was entered accurately and
tried sending with the firewall off, all to no avail.

I have had experience with Outlook before, but this is the first time I have
used it in awhile. The POP3 acct is the default account and the only other
account on there currently is the ISP account (Verizon DSL).

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

This is a typical symptom of failure to authenticate to the outgoing server.
Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select the account and click Change, then
More Settings. On the Outgoing Server tab, check the "My outgoing server
(SMTP) requires authentication" box.
