i can not send any emails that contain text in the body of the email. if
the subject line is the only field with data.....works fine.

also, if i go into account details and hit "test account
settings"....everything is fine other then sending an email. that fails and
all it tells me is to check the email address (which i know is fine).

anyone have any ideas?

What version of Outlook and what is your message format and editor? Why
can't you send text in the message body? When you do try, what error
message do you get? Do you have a subject AND text written in these mails?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Gil Upson asked:

Milly, my father was originally using Outlook 2000 when the problem began.
He first uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled. No change. He then upgraded
that computer to Outlook 2002 and the problem continues. I even had him use
a new .pst file to see if that would solve the problem. no luck.

i have no idea why he can't send text in the message body. If he does a
reply and deletes everything in the body...it goes through. if there is
anything in the body of the email when replying...it fails. all of these
messages have been sent with a subject and text in the body. when sending
the email.....the error message basically says "lost connection from ISP".

Any thoughts?
