My outgoing and incoming mail servers are the same and set to require
authentication. I can receive some mail, but can't send. This problem began
to occur a few days ago and worsened. This is the message I've received. I
would be very grateful for advice.

protocolSMTP, Port25,Secure(SSL),No,Error Number0x800CCC19

And where is the rest of the error message. Can you post in the complete form please

Hi Peter; Thanks for thr feedback. Here is the entire error msg
Subject 'Re: Obama in Lake Worth', Account: 'mail.franniesheridan.com',
Server: 'mail.franniesheridan.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL):
No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

'mail.franniesheridan.com' does not seem to be to correct SMTP . Did this account with this setup ever work for sending. Call your ISP and get the correct SMTP from them

Yes, it worked perfectly until a few days ago, when it began a slow
deterioration. I'm not sure if the comment re: responding to Newsgroup was
for my benefit, but I am unable to reply to anything through my email acct,
only through this channel, since sending email from my acct is the problem.

That type of error is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off your antivirus email scanning function does not resolve
your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it
is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus
programs: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
