We aren't good at reading your mind. Include more details.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375

For example, if you get any error messages when you try to send mail,
right click on them and copy the entire error messages to your next message.

Also, click on the Outbox, then each of the messages you find there. If any
of them display an error message instead of a message you tried to send,
move them to the Drafts folder or delete them. Let us know if any refuse
to do either.

Problems in Windows Mail are frequently due to interference from an
antivirus program, so what if any antivirus programs do you have and
have you ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus program on that
computer, even a trial version?

Hello,

Having similar problems. Uninstalled Norton as suggested. Now running
Antivir Personal. Also installed Windows Live Mail, as suggested. with no
effect.

Can receive, cant send.

Error:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'a', Account:
'mail.jecorporate.com', Server: 'mail.jecorporate.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Furthermore did I copy the exact details of my coworkers, who dont have a
problem with sending mails..

Thanks for help!

Did the details you copied include the security and port settings?

I don't recall seeing your problem statement before.
Had I seen your error message, I would not have suggested uninstalling
Norton or switching to WLM.

The error message indicates a port 25 block. For more on this issue, see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

JEcorporate does not appear to be an ISP. Therefore, your real ISP
will block any attempts to use a non-owned SMTP server on port 25.
As a general rule, the owner of the SMTP server must match the
entity providing the Internet connection.

The available workarounds are as follows:

1. Use webmail for sending (via your browser).
2. Ask JEcorporate if they have a port other than '25' for SMTP.
3. Substitute the SMTP server belonging to your connection provider.
4. If you frequently send from multiple locations (such as from a laptop),
get a free Gmail account, configure it for POP access, and use it for your
sending chores.
Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP, which is not blocked like port 25 is.

Yes, it includes these settings.
SMTP is 25
POP3 is 110
At security options I did not alter anything. Currently theres a 3DES
algorithm applied.

I am copying the settings from a Outlook Express basis. Not sure if this
should hurt the workings of Windows Mail.

Thanks for your extensive answer.

However, I am not sure if I understand correctly.

1. Using web-email will deminish the benifits of using an application like
Windows Mail
2. My co-workers are using port 25.
3. "Substitute the SMTP server belonging to your connection provider" not
sure what this means in practice
4. I understand, but it comes down to point 1. again basically.

It is a quicky workaround. I would normally recommend that option only for
someone who is going on a short trip with a laptop.
2. My co-workers are using port 25.

From home, from the office, or from elsewhere? Different connection
providers have different rules.
3. "Substitute the SMTP server belonging to your connection provider" not

It boils down to the basic question, which you have not answered:
Which Internet connection provider were you using when you got that
error message? As I said before, you can't use a port 25 SMTP server
unless it belongs to your current connection provider.
4. I understand, but it comes down to point 1. again basically.

Noty really. Gmail offers POP access so you can use Windows Mail, and
Gmail allows you to use any From address, so your correspondents won't
know the difference.

Thanks for your comments.

I will eleborate on which option I will use.

For me, it seams all a bit confusing, as I only would like to use a basic
program.

In any case thanks for your help
