i am getting an error message The host 'smtp' could not be found. Please
verify that you have entered the server name correctly.
Server: 'smtp', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

"smtp" is not a valid mail server name. Your mail provider probably
has a web page with all the email setup instructions. If you have
trouble finding that information, just let us know who your mail provider
is, and we can look it up for you.

i actually use Yahoo mail, but when im sending something from a website or a
short video that i've downloaded then the system sends it thru the microsoft
email and thats when i get that error. is there a way i can have it
automatically go thru my Yahoo?

It comes up as an error message when I try to send email from Microsoft
Windows.

It depends on who your email provider is. Many people choose their
internet providers as their email providers also, since most internet
accounts include one or more email accounts. Ask them for instructions
on how to set up to use their email servers, or tell us who your email
provider is and we'll see if we already know where to find their
instructions.

If you want to use yahoo.com under Windows Mail, you have to
either pay extra or install YPOPs.

There are also Yahoo email servers for other countries which have different
requirements.
