can't send email from my pc

hello

after installing xp service pack i've trouble to send email from my pc
i've disabled the firewall and unistall norton antivirus also
and try to send email with different ISP unsuccesful

then i discover that if i do: telnet smtp.myisp.com 25 i get error on
communication
i get this error with every smtp server.

it seems that port 25 is closed on my pc

can anyone help me?

Have you tried the Outlook Express News Group:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
 
Hi Will,

Some ISPs block Port 25. One of my ISPs is cableone.net and they
block that port. I just set up fastmail.fm to use Port 26 and
everything works fine (note though that Norton Anti-virus won't scan
the outgoing mail unless you use Port 25).
