can't send email - 553 (#5.7.1) rcpthosts error

Hi,

I just upgraded from Outlook 2000 to 2002. Then I ran a
script to enable support for MS Mail that I got at
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/msmail_xp.htm. Now, my
MS Mail works, and I am able to receive internet mail
from my POP/SMTP mail account, but I am not able to send
internet mail from this account.

When I try to send an email, I immediately get an
undeliverable message from System Administrator
saying "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of
allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)".

I realize that MS Mail is not supported for Outlook 2002,
but if anyone can help me try to make this work, I'd
really appreciate it.

I have been experiencing this problem for quite some time. No doubt, it is
very frustrating.

I have read through other threads posted and saw that one person posted this
link as holding the solution:

I am trying to read through this now to make sense of it.

I am not a IT troubleshooter, and I hope to find a plain English step by
step corrective action plan for this.

Certainly that article is in plain English, but, since it explains the
reasons as well as the solution, it's more than you need to know.

Try this: In Outlook, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select the account
with the problem and click Change, then More Settings. Select the Outgoing
Server tab and check the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
box. Pick the appropriate radio button below that, but the default one
("Use the same settings...") is probably the correct one.
