can't send e-mails with pictures attatched

I am able to send e-mails no problem as long as there's no picture attatched.
I receive e-mails with pictures attactched without a problem. I cannot send
any e-mails with pictures attatched. It keeps saying my "authentification
settings" may be incorrect.
