Can't send attachments

After a reinstall of Office 2000 I am no longer able to send Word docutments or PowerPoint presentations as attachments, but must insert them into a message. In a previous thread it was suggested that delete the Outlook address books from tools; however, I only found one directory named "Contacts." I would appreciate more suggestions. Thanks.
 
Since I'm assuming you are using Outlook 2000, you should re-ask this
question in a newsgroup specialising in Outlook where people experienced
with Outlook will give advice.

That being said, when in Outlook you use the "insert attachment"
command, what is the exact error message? Is the problem related only
to *.DOC and *.PPT files?
