I am trying to enable the feature that performs a shutdown in Windows 2000
when the power button is selected. I have a Dell Precision 330 that is ACPI
compatible. There are no options listed for what to do when the power
button is pressed. There is an option for the sleep button (which I do not
have), but no option for power button. I know that this option used to be
displayed, but now for some reason it is gone. How do I re-enable the
ability to select shutdown on power off?

The Sleep button on the laptop is the power button.
