Can't see other computers

Hi all!


I just got a new hp that has a wireless network card and an ethernet card on
it. I plugged the cable, configured the IP adress and successfully ran the
network setup wizard. Even though I can ping the other systems in the network
they can't ping me. I can't see them in my network places. What can I do to
fix this? All of the computers on the network including this one uses Windows
XP. Thank you very much.

This is usually caused by a misconfigured firewall. Here is a network
troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it
and it will pinpoint the problem area(s).

Generally, a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall is involved in this
sort of problem, but there are other possibilities.
