There are six desktop PC's in my house, all of which are operating on XP Pro.
The problem is, my computer can't see any of the PC's in network places. I've
tried home network setup, the workgroup name is the same on all the
computers, and I can't understand why I can't see them. We have a modem,
wired router, and a switch. I'm not very technical so I would really
appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

You have opened network places, then have you clicked 'View Workgroup
Computers' on the Network tasks pane on the left?

Yes, I've tried that many times!

I'm having the same problem in a WLAN. If anyone knows how to solve this
problem, please help us.

Had the same problem. Resolved by using the browser on the host PC to
go to the router control address (198.162.1.1 in my case). Select the
configuration tab, and configure the Private LAN. Private LAN must be
set to Enable. Also, for me disabling the Private LAN DHCP Server
setting works best.

Good luck. HH
