When I first got my computer (Dell) with Windows XP Home
there was a directory on the C drive called "i386".
It's still there but I can't see it in Windows Explorer.
I've set the view to show hidden files, system fies and
all extentions.
Why is it hiding from me?

Using Find, my system shows 20 folders with that name (one I386, 19
i386).

Thanks.
When I search for "i386" onm my C drive I find two
folders by that name, both subfolders of which are in the
Windows folder. The one that's hiding is not a subfolder.
If I search of a folder that I know is in the "i386"
folder, I find that folder, and it shows that it is in
the "C:\i386" folder. :-\

Hopefully one of the experts here can assist you. Is Dell tech support
no help? I thought that was one of their selling points.

Do you have 'Hide protected mode system files' still checked? That
hides a great many system components, though I am not sure about this
one
