I have a Win98 desktop and a Xp Pro laptop. I copy files from the desktop to the laptop through my internal network at home. I had been moving just one document at a time but I wanted to make sure that the whole folder was up to date on the laptop so I trashed the folder on the laptop and copied it from the desktop

But sometimes the version of the document is not the same, like it didn't get updated somehow even though it is a straight copy across. Also I can see the document when I use explorer and double click on it to open it
but if I'm in Word and go File, Open and browse for the document it is not there and I can't seem to refresh i
Any help would be appreciate

Thank

What is the "Files of type" dropdown set to look for when you click "File",
"Open"?
