Cant save word file to dvd/ cd -rw drive

How are you trying to do this? What software?
 
I am trying to save a word file using the save as option in word trying to
save to drive e

Word cannot write to a CD-type device. Nor does XP have any services that
can be called upon to do so by an application program such as Word.

You must write the file to the hard drive then copy that file to a
CD-device, preferably using a 3rd-party product such as Nero.
