can't save view size

have a doc that always comes up at 150% view. I change it to 100%, save
it, close it, and then reopen and it's back to 150% again.

What gives?

Word 2003
 
"Dirty" the document before saving by deleting any character and reentering
it; change the zoom and then save the document.
