Hello. If anyone can help me with this... I will be very glad!

I have a USB storing device. In swedish we call it a pocket memory (dont
know the proper english term). I seem to have managed to lock it in
some way, i must have been thinking about security at some point.

Now my problem is that I cant use it, since it wont allow me to storage
anything
on it. The only thing I´m allowed to do is to "download" the files that is
allready on the storage device.

How do I "lock it up"? I hav´nt got a clue. Been trying now for hours with
different methods in explorer, but with no result.

Very happy if I get any advice, what so ever!

Have a nice day.

Hi,

Is it full? What is the size of the device and how much free space is there
left?

Hi
There should be a small switch on the device to "write protect" the files
already stored
on the device,
if so reverse it

Does the Pocket Memory USB storage device have a brand name
and model number? Does it have a sliding locking button on its side,
or a push button locking button on the case? Perhaps you physically
"locked" the device so that it can't accept revisions and new files?

Stay warm in chilly Sweden. Good luck.

Hi Uncle Joe!

Thanx for your consern! The weather is just fantastic. Im afraid that my
storage devise still isn´t though!

There is no physical switch of any kind on it. I don´t know the brand name,
could ofcourse check it up, but I think that I have "write-protected" it in a
"windows-way" and not in a physical way.

So, I´m still in trouble here.

Thank you again!

Why not just copy the entire contents to a hard drive folder.
Use Diskmgmt.Msc to format it or perhaps remove the
Partition and start over by creating a new Partition and then
format it ? Some of these units come from the factory with
a resident control/encryption tool available. Perhaps you've
inadvertently triggered a "Lock".

Go to the manufacture's web site for the needed utilities.
