I downloaded Browstat on my xp/sp2 box. When I click the icon to run it, I
see a command window for a split-second, then it dissapears. How do I get
it to stay? To run command from start/run, I have to type cmd /k.
Thnx,
v

Is there a way to keep the window open without the '/k' ?

If you want to run browstat directly from the Run window, you enter it as "cmd
/k browstat status". If you want to run browstat from a command window, you
enter "cmd" into the Run window, then "browstat status" into the command window.
Either procedure should leave you with an open command window with the browstat
status display waiting for you.

well, this is what i get from Run:
? f Ü??????5?K?5?V?5?5???? ? #?? Y?¶ ? Y? ?
MZ??«?E stat status

and this is from 2 different command shells:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools>browstat status
'browstat' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools>cd c:\

C:\>browstat status
'browstat' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386>browstat status
'browstat' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386>

this started out as my xp box not letting my 98 box have access. now its

V,

OK, start over a bit. Download browstat by itself, from either Dynawell or
Stanford. When you download from Microsoft, you have to install the Support
Tools kit. If you download browstat by itself, just copy it to C:\, and run it.

If you have a Windows 98 / Windows XP LAN, just stop the Browse Master on the
Windows 98 computer. Browstat won't run on Windows 9x. :(

Open the command window from the Start menu, then run Browstat in the open
command window.
