Cant rid system of VX2 spyware/malware

Am running SP2

I run AdAware SE v1.04 Over and over, and it says that system is clean, but
when I reboot system, Its there all over again

Ive tried a lot of spyware removal programs but nothing seems to work.


Before I upgraded to SP2, i never had popups, but when I upgraded I was in
popup hades, and even though I enabled the built in popup "blocker" that came
with SP2, i still get popups at the most inopportune times, such as in the
middle of a multiplayer game when I am about to capture an objective and then
an enemy shows up and we are fighting, only to be killed because game
minimized to show me an ad that says i need to elarge my phallus.

Vx2 is part of audio galazy. I assume you un-installed
that with add/remove programs in control panel.
Unfortunately, some registry items in startup run are
sometimes left behind. Which means it will re-create the
registry items each time it runs. That's why you keep
getting hits on it with adware.
So you need to remove this from startup. Hyjackthis
removes statup registry items highjackthis is available
free at:

Download that and run a scan. That site can interpret a
log you provide. Just follow their directions. You'll
have to wait a while before they get back to you.

You can delete the startup entry yourself

The entry will be 04 labeled

Something like this 04-HKLM\.. something with vx2 or
galaxy.

Just check the box and run fix.


Or adware is not taking care of all registry items. I
believe Spybot complements adware. What adware doesn't
get spybot does, and vice versa

There is a VX2cleaner add-in available at the lavasoft web site. Install
that add-in, then run it, and clean it:

How to use Lavasoft’s VX2 Cleaner add-on

Close Ad-Aware and Ad-Watch (if running)
Install the VX2 Cleaner
Start Ad-Aware
Go to “Add-onsâ€
Select the VX2 Cleaner add-on and click “Run Toolâ€
If your computer isn’t infected, click “Closeâ€.

If your computer is infected
Select “Clean Systemâ€
Reboot your computer
Scan your computer with Ad-Aware
Remove any VX2 objects detected
Reboot your computer again
Run a second scan to make sure the files have been removed from your
computer
 
I have this VX2 spyware on my PC but the VX2 cleaner tool from
Lavasoft won't get rid of it. I can do a regular adware scan and it
brings up 40+ VX2 items, but when I run the add-on VX2 cleaner tool
(according to the instructions found below and on Lavasoft's website),
it says the system is clean..

Am I doing something wrong? Is there any other software that will get
rid of the VX2 crap?
