Hi there,

I am hoping that someone can help me resolve an anoying problem for me.
When I am using an application that will open up smaller windows when you
click on certain objects within the application. The problem is when I click
on an object it shows the window in the open application bar at the bottom of
the screen but it is only viewable when you right click on the name at the
bottom of the screen and select "Maximize". Any ideas as to what the problem
could be???

Thanks!

I've seen this happen when a program opens the new application window
but retains the focus. Try pressing Alt+Tab the next time this happens
to see if it brings up the new window from underneath the original
application window.

If this is what is happening you may be able to find a setting in your
program that tells it not to retain the focus when opening the new
window.

Thanks John,

I tried your suggestion with the alt + tab and when I see the listing of
open windows and tab over the one in question it does not appear like it
should.

If you can think of anything else let me know.

Thanks for you help.

Jeff,

After you maximize the hidden window try right clicking on it's icon
in the task bar to see if the "Restore" option is grayed out. If it's
not grayed out try selecting "Restore" to see what happens to the
maximized application window.

In theory it is possible that the Window is actually opening normally
but has been moved off the visible display. If that is what is
happening you would see the "Restore" option in the task bar icon and
when you selected "Restore" the window would disappear again.

If this is what is happening you should be able to select "Move" in
the new Windows task bar icon and use the cursor keys to move the
hidden application back into view.

Hey John - That was the trick! When I work I use multiple monitors on a
single computer and what had happened was that the new window was opening out
of my view. It works perfectly now.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
