Hi, I'm hoping someone could help me.

When opening an Access Database (1997)I get a message
saying it needs a repair. When I click yes I get an error
message saying it can't be repair or isn't a Microsoft
Access database. Is there anyway of repairing or
restoring a database from this status.

Many thanks

See

http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

for some causes and cures for database corruption.

Some corruption CANNOT BE FIXED at all (e.g. if you open a .mdb file
in Word and save it... it's toast). If you don't have a backup, the
data may be lost forever - a good reason to routinely keep backups!
Some can be fixed by creating a new empty database and using File...
Get External Data... Import to import everything (or everything except
the corrupted object). Some need third party experts
(http://www.pksolutions.com is a highly recommended one).

Good luck; check out Tony's website above.
