I have a PP presentation I created at an old job. I have
copied some slides for a new presentation. I cannot
remove the sounds and animations from the original
presentation file.

What version of PowerPoint are you now using, and what version was the
presentation created in? How did you copy the slides? Can you just open the
presentation and delete what you don't want? Can you then remove the sounds and
animation?

Sonia,

Thanks for responding. Now I am using 2003. The
original file was created in 1999 in whatever version was
most current at that time. However, I am sure the file
was updated as recently as 1 year ago with the most
current version of Power Point at that time.

I copied the slide by opening a new file and arranging
both files side by side. Then I dragged the slides over,
copying only.

When I go to slide show and animations, and select no
animations, it does not remove the old sounds or
transitions.

Here is some more info:

Transitions - If you want to remove all transitions from a presentation,
select all slides in slide sorter view, choose Slide Show | Transition and
select No Transition in the Transition task pane (in PowerPoint 2002/03).

Custom Animation - If you want to remove all custom animations in a slide,
press Ctrl + A to select all elements in the slide. Then choose Slide Show |
Custom Animation. Delete all animations listed in the Custom Animation task
pane (in PowerPoint 2002/03).

Sounds - Check your transition task pane with each slide active to ascertain
that you have no transition sounds enabled. Also, if a sound plays along
with the entry of an element on slide, you probably have an event sound
inserted. Also, delete any sound icons within the presentation slides.

You need to select the object that is animated, right click it and select Custom
Animation, and then set it to no animation in the Custom Animation task pane.
If there are sound icons on the slide, select them and delete them.
