I am unable to remove a program using the add/remove tool, when I check on
the progam list it appears to be empty, but when I try to delete the program
I get the message that the program is too large to be sent to recycling bin,
Please help me I want to get rid off the program but don't know how to do
properly. I have xp home edition.
Thank you , Elly

Hi,

Have you actually uninstalled it? Is there anything remaining in the program
folder?

Often, you will find the uninstaller file in the program folder itself,
something like unwise.exe. Running this should uninstall the program, and
afterwards you can delete the program folder. If it's too big for the
Recycle Bin, then just acknowledge the error and it should permanently
delete it. Or use shift+delete on the folder to bypass it. If these are
unsuccessful, it can still be removed from the command prompt using RD (post
back if you need these steps).

hi,

you could try using the software's original disk to uninstall. When you put
the disk in most programs auto-run a box asking you what you want to do
(play, install, uninstall, cancel, etc...). If it does, try clicking
uninstall and see if that works.

Failing that, you could find the program folder (C:\program
files\whatever...!) but you'll have to careful to check that you're deleting
the right program, and not killing anything that other programmes are reliant
on.

Hope this helps,

FS

Hi Elly,

In addition......

There should also be the option/box that reads would you want to delete
anyway. If this is not the case, change your setting via the Recycle Bin
temporarily to read: Do not move files to the......Remove file immediately.

If that doesn't help, follow the steps here and good luck!
