I have two copies of winxp pro, one is used already and
one is not. I had to do a reinstall of windows, but now
cant remember which code i used, and i don't want to
activate the new one by mistake? is there somewhere i
can go online or someone that can tell me which on i am
using? (obviously not going to give out the whole code,
just the last few digits to compare)

Try AIDA:
http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php

Or try Magic Jelly Bean KeyFinder:

Try entering one of the keys. If it is the wrong one it will be rejected and
you can use the other.

The key would have to have entered for either of them to find it.

Thus why I suggested it when the OP said "...cant remember which code i
used" -- which means it could be installed somewhere...

After going back and re-reading the OP, I'm not really sure what the deal
is. I hope something one, or both, of us helped.

Cheers, JAX

Same here. *shrug*

We'll likely never know. =(

But if has been over 120 days (since the last install) it would be accepted.

if you want i have the patch so you dont have to activate it at all.
just becuase its a patch doesnt mean its anyhting bad as long as you have the licences for it,
If you do need the patch

You originally installed and inserted the key where necessary, correct. Now,
use Aida32 to view all important information about your computer. Go to the
operating system tab. The key used will be displayed there!
