Today, our frame measuring computer (P4, WindowsXP pro)
started to boot, gave me a message saying a needed file
was corrupt or missing, it could be fixed by inserting the
recovery cd. I inserted the recovery cd, and XP started
reinstalling automatically. it checked for requirements,
previous versions, etc. I got to where it starts to do the
actual setup and it gives me the following message:
ERROR
SXS.DLL syntax error in manifest or policy file d:\I386
\asms\6000\MSFT\WINDOWS\COMMON\CONTROL.MOD on line 0
INSTALLATION failed
D:\I386\asms
error message:manifest parse error: invalid at the top
level of the document
I hit close to close the log, it reboots, starts all over
again. I can't boot in safe mode, boot normally, boot off
a floppy, anything
