can't receive popup message

On my WinXp Professional Sp1 I can't receive network popup message, I can
send them to any user on the network but not receive. I've no firewall, nor
any other programs that can restrict network access. Since a few months ago
(I don't know exaclty when ) I was be able to send and receive any messages.
The
strange thing is that the user send me a message with no error but I receive
nothing.
I run NAV 2004, Ad-aware, spybot and my system is free of any virus.
The Messenger service is started by the system and it's in run state.

Can anyone help me?

Make sure that the Messenger service is running. Look in the Event
Log for messages about services or related problems.
