Can't Receive in Outlook 2000

I can send, but I can't receive. My pop server name is
accurrate. I've tried two different accounts and the
same problem happens with both. Here's the kicker...I
downloaded Eudora in an attempt to simply start over with
a new program and got the exact same result. The error
message in outlook 2000 reads like this: Unable to
connect to the server:
(Account: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', POP3
server: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Error number:
0x800ccc0e).
My conclusion is that the problem may have something to
do with Windows, because of the fact that Eudora did the
exact same thing. Any thoughts? The only change that I
recall doing is upgrading to 256 ram from 128. I have
MSFT Windows XP service pack 1, and my processor speed is
951 Mhz

Have you contacted SBC to see if they are having a problem?

Yes, I've had several conversations with them. After
running a bunch of test, they concluded that it was an
MSFT problem because I was able to send and receive a
message from the web mail feature. Makes sense to me. I
mean my internet connection is good and I can send mail
from Outlook and receive it with web mail. The only
thing I can't seem to do is receive it with a mail
program. I wondered if there was maybe a problem with my
inbox. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try setting the Incoming server to authenticate.

Sorry, that did not work. Have you ever heard of
deleting the inbox? (maybe a .mbx file or something?)

I guess I could reformat, but I really would rather not.
Any other advice? Thanks for your help.
