Have you set up correctly under Windows Mail?

the email program works intermitent... i went to that link, set it up again
and still get same error.

The error message "the host 'pop.earthlink.net' could not be found"
indicates a DNS or network problem rather than a mail problem.
Try this: for the incoming server name, replace pop.earthlink.net
with 209.86.93.205. This will narrow the problem down somewhat.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

have you checked to make sure you are still connected to the internet after
reeiving this message
