Can't receive e-mails after adding Norton antivirus. Error msg.

I can send but not receive my e-mails after adding Norton antivirus. Any tips
on how to fix? Thanks!!
 
Disable the features of Norton that tries to integrate with Outlook; it's
redundant anyway. Default Outlook security settings and an active and
up-to-date on-access scanner will sufice. Otherwise; contact Norton support.
 
Sounds like you know what is wrong... how do I disable the features of Norton
that intigrates with Outlook? I am a novice! Thanks for your advice, Roady.
 
Yep, basically all virus scanners do a poor job in integrating with Outlook
(and like I said; there is no reason to). I'm not familair with Norton
products as I don't use them but either you should be able to use the Norton
installer to remove the function or their configuration panel to disable it.

I haven't liked the Norton antivirus. AVG works great.
 
AVG is fine as long as you do not install email scanning - it seems to be
one of the worst at munging mail.

What's ironic is that it used to be the best at not interfering. Version 8
really changed that.
