i recently just reformatted my computer and i tried to install windows prof
on it and i got in to the basic start up then i pressed instal and said tehre
was no evidence that i i have the right or somthing to install ebcause i dont
have the operating system installed right then and it asked for me to put in
my disc which was in and it asked to put it in so i keep trying and each time
it cant read disc but it can read it on startup???

Let's start from scratch as your post contains no useful info, what is the
EXACT message your getting?

If I had to guess, I would say your trying to do an install on an empty hard
drive with an upgrade CD, in which case you need to provide proof of a
previous version of Windows, so setup is asking for the CD of this previous
version.

When doing a clean install with an upgrade version of XP, setup requires
proof that you own a previous version of Windows. You need to insert your
installation cd for the OS you upgraded from when you first installed XP.
