Can't read audio CD properties

When I click on "Properties" of an audio CD Windows XP Explorer reveals zero
bytes used, zero bytes free and zero bytes capacity. How do I get the actual
number of bytes used? Windows XP Explorer does give the actual number of
bytes used on a program and / or data CD. Also, the old Windows 98 will
reveal the actual number of bytes used on both audio and data CDs.

If you want to know the actual size of the contents of the CD , you can go to
the root of the cd and select all files and view the properties of the files
there.

The "root" directory of the audio CD shows only the "CDA" files which are 1
KB each. I can't find the music data files which contain many tens of
megabytes of data. How do I find the "root" of an audio CD?
