My friends Dell 2300 with XP home crashed. I don't know how. I inserted his CD to reinstall the OS and it doesn't recognize his CD-ROM drive. I checked his BIOS and it isn't even a choice. It only offers Floppy A and Hard drice C. When you turn on the computer. the Dell logo comes up for about 5 seconds and just enough time to press F12 to get into the BIOS. If you don't get in, the machine recycles, over and over. I checked the connection inside the computer and it is good.
I placed the CD in the CD drive and turned on the computer. It will stop and ask if you want to start in safe mode. No matter what you do the machine will not respond but recycle to the question again
I tried to download the XP Home boot disk from Microsoft, but even though it says it will instruct you to insert another disk, as they fill up, - 6 needed - instead it tells me I don't have enough disk space on a Floppy. I am at a loss as to how to help this guy
Any help appreciated
