CAN'T PRINT WITHOUT REBOOTING!!!!!

HELP,I CAN'T SEEM TO GET MY LEXMARK X-85 TO PRINT WITHOUT DOING A RESTART. I ALWAYS GET "HAVING TROUBLE COMUNICATING WITH THE PRINTER" AND IT STORES THE JOB. SO THEN I REBOOT AND PRINT, IT'S A PAIN IN THE BUTT. HELP SOMEONE!!!!?????
 
Please turn off your Caps Lock Key. It's considered shouting, is extremely
rude and makes the posting difficult to read.

I suspect there is nothing wrong with your printer, but the problem is with
the USB port. Right click on My Computer, select Properties. On the
Hardware tab, select the Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

Expand the tree, click on each USB Root Hub in turn and the the Power
Management tab of their Properties, UNCHECK the box to let the PC turn off
power to the USB ports to save energy.

Hi Cari,

I'm having the identical problem with my Lexmark X1150, but I've tried going
into the USB Root Hub, and I don't have a "power management option". Any
other suggestions??

Is there any thing else that needs to be changed? I am having the same
problem (sort of) the only diference is the the scanning portion seems to go
offline. after long up-times. My Lexmark printer/scanner is the X1150 I am
rumming under XP Pro w/ SP2.

TS-D, on my system , the Powers Managment tab is the last one on the right.
I found it in the device manager.
Right-Click My Computer, click manage, click Device Manager, click the +
next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers and, Double-Click each Usb Root Hub.

Follow-up that USb power fix seems to be the trick havent seemed to have any
more problems. :)

Thanks for this post, Cari - after a couple of test printings, it seems to
have done the thrick yet again. I tried with a nothing to lose, everything to
gain attitude because I use my Lexmark XC9350 wirelessly - what could that
have to do with USB power management, after all? Everything, apparently!

Whilst on the subject of USB Root Hubs - when I connect my USB phone or a
flash drive to any one of the four USB ports (visible from outside the
casing) on my laptop, I get a message telling me it would work faster if I
connected it to one the the eight (I think but maybe six) USB Root Hubs in
the computer.

Devise Manager has just reminded me there are five USB Root Hubs and a USB
Composite Device as well as four USB Universal Host Controllers and a USB2
Enhanced Host Controller.

Where oh! where ate these faster USB Root Hubs and how do I get at them with
a flash drive - or any USB device??
