When I am on-line and click on a movie file from a web
site the file will not play regardless of if the default
player is windows media or quicktime, etc. All players
give error messages so I don't think it's the players.
The problem occurs with MPG but does not occur with WMV
files, those play fine on or off line.
Now if I right click on the MPG and download it to my
desktop it players perfectly through the same players.
I have tried everything, can someone help.
The Window Media error is
"Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be
sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does
not exist at the specified location, or the computer
where the file is stored is offline."
If the website has it's own embedded player it works fine
but when it causes my players to open they do not work.
Now I get a different one with Quicktime so I am pretty
sure it's not the players.
I have Win XP and IE 6
site the file will not play regardless of if the default
