Is there a way to record audio CD's using Windows XP so
they will play in a standard player?

I have Windows XP Professional on my Toshiba laptop.

Whenever I burn an audio CD, everything goes just fine.
When I put the newly recorded CD in any standard CD
player, it doesn't recognize it therefore it will not
play. It does play just fine in any PC I put it in.

Is the music still un .Mp3 format or does you r burning
software give you the option to change to regular cd
format. Some cd players wont play the mp3 format.

I have the same problem - and its only been a problem for
the last week! The audio source files are .mpg and the
files written to the AUDIO CD are .mda

The CD's are not rewritable ones. Last weeke I could play
the CD's on both my computer and my stand alone CD
player. Now, only my computer recognises them. CD's made
a week ago are still recognised and playable on my CD
player.

I just don't understand. Could it be that Windows XP
updates have caused this?

I get exactly the same result, no matter which software
package I use to burn the CD.

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Chris
