Can't Ping or access XP Pro from Network Neighborhood

I have a Win XP Pro laptop configured with DHCP and connected to a NT domain. The laptop is able to access local network and internet resources using that IP, however no PC on the local network can ping it by IP address or Netbios name (get "Request timed out") nor access it via Network Neighborhood (can see it but get "not accessible .... network path not found). I can ping other IP address from the laptop. I checked to make sure that Internet Connection Firewall was not enabled (I even enabled/disabled it).. that did not help. I also verified that no other firewall software has been installed on the laptop. Any suggestions?

Please post ipconfig information for the laptop, and for one of the PCs that
can't ping it.
Start - Run - "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in
Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

I figured this out. The laptop has CISCO's VPN client installed on it. Stopping the VPN service (which is set to start automatically) fixed the problem. What is perplexing to me is that my laptop has the same configuration - Win XP Pro; CISCO VPN service set to start automatically; and I don't have this problem.

Maybe the default gateway is set to use remote gateway. So you therefore
cannot see your LAN. On the computer that sees your LAN maybe the gateway
is set to your local gateway.

I have nearly the same problem. From XP Pro I can see shared files
and manipulate them. From the 2 XP Home systems I can't even ping the
XP Pro box. Each XP home can ping each other one. The XP Pro can ping
all.

Gary,

You're running IP V6, and you only provided ipconfig for the XP Pro box.

It is to your benefit, as well as to the OP, for you to start another topic of
your own. And please provide ipconfig for one working computer as well as the
non-working one.
