can't open webpage shortcuts from the desktop

Hi all

i can't open url or html shortcuts from the desktop anymore. i can still
open the shortcuts from the favourites menu while surfing. When i click on a
destop shortcut a window appears asking me if i want to save the url or open
..... it doesn't open it. Norton doesn't find anything suspect i have also
tried a few pestware programs, nothing helps

don't think short cuts can be url, try putin em in
bookmarks.
