I have an IBM Thinkpad T23 that I recently put on a
wireless network with access to the internet via comcast
cable.
It worked for an hour or two. It can no longer obtain
DHCP, even when connected via ethernet. Even with manual
TCP/IP config, it can no longer resolve DNS, and it can no
longer open a web page via the direct IP address, it can
load .htm files of the local drive however, and I can map
a drive to it.
I've installed XP SP1, and am having difficulties finding
the patches for various XP vulnerabilities so that I can
download them on another computer, and manually install
them on my thinkpad. Does this sound like a certain virus?
