Can't open some files nested 7th folder down and beyond.

Some files (in this case jpg) in folders that are in nested 7th down or more
cannot be opened. A right-click pop-menu does not display the properties
item. If the folder is upward, this problem goes away. If the folder is moved
back to its original location, many more files are afflicted with the
problem. I'm having a hard time locating this problem in the Knowledge Base.
Where can I find some help with this ?

This my have something to do with a limit somewhere @ 256 chars in a
path name
