Can't open PDF files in IE 6

When I attempt to open PDF located at websites I visit using IE 6, i get a
small red "X" in the upper left hand corner of my screen. I am also getting
lots of blank pages when I attempt to navigate sites - the status bar says
"done" but nothing appears on the screen.

Any suggestions
 
I am experiencing a similar problem and cannot open any
PDF files. Any help is appreciated
