Hi, I uninstalled office 2007 some months ago after running into problems
with stuck mail and not being able to sort it out. After looking into it I
thought there was a problem with a pst file????? I got stuck so gave in. I
have installed office XP and still can't open outlook, can anyone help. It
says it can't find the the folder!!

Thanks,
Helen

Please post the error message IN FULL.....

Hi Gordon, it says:
Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Unable to display the selected folder or
item. Could not open the item. Try again.

Hope that helps!!

Have you verified the profile exists using the mail applet in the Control
Panel? Also, you can check your PST for errors or corruption by running a
repair tool called scanpst.exe against it.

I am so sorry Peter, but completly lost with what you're asking, i think this
is why I gave up last time!!! I'm not thick honest, just not clued up on
outlook I'm afraid.

I googled the scanpst.exe command and installed a program to repair pst
files...got completly lost. Could open outlook when this program was running
but then not without. it was called stella phoenix I think - I haver
uninstalled it as got scared at what I might be doing - so once again can't
open outlook......:(
