Can't open certain websites! HELP!!!!!

I had iWon as my home page and downloaded Popswatter. The first time I
tried to open Gap and Disney (which is all of "abc.go.com") the Popswatter
turned on and the websites wouldn't open and haven't opened ever since. I
have uninstalled iWon, Popswatter and anything related and the sites still
won't open. Most recently the Nordstrom websites won't open. Yes, I do a
lot of shopping online! I live in a small town and don't have access to
good shopping except on the web. Help!

Not being able to reach some site:
It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.
