Can't Microsoft make / source a forum website that works?

I think that 90% of all instances in my browsing life of looking at
hourglasses, blank screens and pages that don't load are on this forum
website.

I agree. I love this site and the advice one can get as well as search for
past Q&A. But in the last several months the response time at this site has
been very unstable. Sometimes ok, many times a slow crawl.... alas....

Something isn't working reliably well in their back end.....

The data isn't ON the website.

The website is one of many newsreaders, and I agree, it's not a very good
newsreader.

Get a newsreader program - I like Agent from http://www.forteinc.com, but you
can use Outlook Express or even Windows Mail - and set up an account using
either msnews.microsoft.com or news.microsoft.com as the news server.
Subscribe to this (or any other) microsoft.public.* newsgroup and you'll see
all of the same messages as in the webpage... fast, reliable, and you can
download and save the messages you want.

true true.... but that is avoiding the reality for the casual users that
visit here only on rare occasions expecting the browser experience to be
good...... and this is put forward by MS.com as their forum.... their
forums are their showcase of their own technology........just knowing that
they know about it and are working on it is helpful because I have really
wondered about that...

(...utteraccess site is always rocket fast...but searching for past Q&A
isn't as easy)

Comments forwarded to Microsoft.

This newsgroup is available from the free newsserver news.microsoft.com, and
either the free Outlook Express that comes with many versions of Internet
Explorer or Windows Mail that comes with Vista can receive and post... and
so can several other "third-party" mail/news readers.

You don't HAVE to use the online interface (not a "forum" by the way, except
in a general sense of the word).
