Can't make mde-file

When trying to produce an mde file out of a mbd-file I get the error-message
"MS Access can not make an MDE file".

I have made sure the database is compiled, I have used the Repair utility
and even created a new database and imported all the object from the old
file to the new file with no success.

Any suggestions to get Access to make de MDE file greatly appreciated!

What version of Access and what version is the file?

By default Access 2002 and Access 2003 both still use the Access 2000 file
format, but they cannot make an MDE from that format. You have to convert
to the 2002/2003 format beforehand.
